Why Become a Herbalife Distributor?
70So you want to be a wellness distributor? Herbalife is a fair place to begin your search, but not recommended if you are interested in independently making money through your business, and most of all it is strongly not recommended if your clients’ health is in your best interest!
In my humble experience I have felt very mislead by Herbalife. They promote and sell their products through a multi-level marketing scheme. This means that a person who wants to become a distributor has to pay into the system in order to join the business, and there are royalty rewards for any member who recruits a new applicant. This is faulty on several levels. Firstly I would like to mention their “Decision Package” which is a small booklet and a DVD. The applicant is expected to review these materials within the first 24 hours, in order for him or her to feel equipped in deciding whether or not this business is really for them. After I reviewed the package, I asked myself “what am I deciding? This “decision package” is nothing more than an hour long commercial!”Thus, I took the risk out of desperation to somehow find the opportunity to work from home and sustain myself independently. I was offered two different packages to proceed. One package was geared towards making sales to friends and family, making direct contact with your future prospects. The other option was the “international business package” which I was informed would enable me to work a business from home using the Internet to distribute the same products worldwide. So I proceeded with the “international business package” which was comprised of an excess of Herbalife products geared towards weight loss and metabolism boosters, plus a very cheesy and outdated marketing manual. When the Herbalife salesman asked me what health problems I have, I did not mention anything about needing to lose weight – yet I was provided with about 9 products all geared towards weight loss included in this “international” package. I was moving at the time, preparing to travel, so having all these weight loss products in my home wasn’t at all what I had in mind when I signed up for an “online business”.I was appalled and quite frustrated. I was firmly informed that this was an online business, which it is certainly not! So, to my surprise and disappointment, I was encouraged to register for several unnecessary accessories at unreasonable prices. The best example is the merchant provider (enabling an entrepreneur to process credit cards), which is at least 10 times more expensive than other options that were easily found online through Google (www.propay.com is a good example). On top of that, the first step in establishing prospects was to call friends and family, and advertise in the community! Does this sound like an international business to you? If you are at all wondering, the answer is simply “no”. How is someone supposed to distribute flyers, ads, samples, and business cards from home? It is strictly not a home business; it is simply purchasing the products at wholesale prices and reselling them in your community at retail prices (the prices are unreasonable in most cases – see http://www.wholesalesupplementstore.com for better prices). To make a long story short, I finally decided to resign as a distributor when I realized that their products contain a derivative of aspartame and hydrogenated oils. This to me is absolutely despicable when they present themselves as a Wellness company, and that their name contains the word “herbal”. To make a blunt conclusion I would like to finalize this article by saying that Herbalife and Online Business Systems is both a scam and morally crooked… I would encourage anyone who is currently taking their products or considering being a distributor to strongly reconsider.Herbalife Logo

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but I've been taking Herbalife since I was 6 and feel great and am a picture of health! I'm now 19 and do the business out of an office, alongside my family, and we do great! I don't work the internet aspect so much, just because I really enjoy working with others face-to-face, but it is such an amazing business and I have had the opportunity to help so many people get healthy and change their lives!
I've never dealt with a "decison package" with my clients, I am very straight forward, and have nothing to hide about the business or products. And I'm sorry you were "mislead" by whoever you were working with. :/
I also use Herbalife as an INTERNATIONAL business... which you claimed it was not international...
I have business in Ireland and simply talk on the phone with my distributors there.
And to be honest, you can do flyers and sampling via the internet, its a larger investment, but it is possible. In reality, it is more rewarding to do the business within the commuity and work your way out to other states and countries. (I'm sure someone from your community is from another country or knows someone from another country that could lose weight, gain weight, or that could use an energy boost, ect.)
I'd just like to make it clear that Herbalife is NOT a scam... and it is a reasonable and very successful business for (MOTIVATED & HARDWORKING) individuals. I am a pre med student and doing the business to pay for everything! Ergo, please do not blame your failure on the business, but more so, for your lack of time and energy put into your business.
HERBALIFE is Awesome it pays me for my efforts well !! and it makes me look good ....
i meet & help alot of people at the same time
Incomeathome scam PPL please read.
If anyone out there has been scammed by herballife to create a income (not the product itself) please email me with your story. I promise one thing I will NOT use your name or email address or what you wrote in your email unless I contact you first and you agree and I get a signature or something from you- I too am a real human with real feelings and a real life, I do respect you and myself. My goal is NOT to get money or any personal info but information from ppl who have paid money to start working at home and have been given all these false hopes and dreams and made nothing. Ppl who have been scammed, its usually the women or men who want to be with their children all day as well as make money online, just like myself. We are comfortable but wanted a little more (we are happy with what we have now, I was being greedy) The ppl who have paid for information they never actually get.. well unless they pay 325.00 first and then what???
Anyone with info please PLEASE email, I was scammed and I want something to happen and I know im not the only one so,… well I need your help. I too am very embarrassed but I do believe that we can stop this. Not herballife but full disclosure all the info before we pay any money. This does not help you make money unless your willing to recruit others to pay the 325 required to earn money and even then only 0.5% do. NOT once was that mentioned to me until I had forked out this much. And yes many will say its my fault and I agree, to begin with it is but after all the bullshit they thrust apon you no wonder these ppl are making so much money.
Please help me by sending your stories and I will answer each and every one, from what I gather its going to be a few ill try and reply to everyone even if it’s a attachment of what im telling everyone. AGAIN I will not use your name wmail addy or any info you give me until I clear it (if I can) with you, I seriously need to know how many ppl were scammed and what we can do, as a group, to stop this.
Email scammedppl@y7mail.com
Thank you

I am in the process of making a decision about Herbal Life. I also feel they did not present themselves up front as Herbal Life. The first time my coach called me I asked him if they were going to be asking me for all kinds of money and he said now. Now he's saying I have to pay $199 to be a licensed distributor and get one month's supply of products etc. Then after that there's another $19.99 I will have to pay. It is hard to believe there won't be more money demanded after that. Please give me whatever advice you have.
I have simple advice...
If you want to have your own business, you can do it without herbalife entirely. You can easily create a website and mail products to people in North America without having to pay a "Coach" your hard earned money.
Simply put - Stay away from Herbalife, it is BS. Their products are not nearly as healthy as they claim (containing derivatives of aspartame etc) and you have to pay way too much for it... consider buying a pound of hemp protein and compare the cost, then you will see what I mean.
; )
Good luck!

Beware of their name. It is very misleading. They are not actually a company that sells "herbal" products. Check it out yourself and be rational.

I'm sorry that it happened to you that way. I can tell you that had I been put in the same situation as you with hunting down friends and family or advertising in your community, I would of resigned almost immediately. However, the team (only 2 herbalife teams are actually internet based) is an internet based team. I have people from across the US, some in Canada, even in India. I haven't even left my house and I am doing really well in my business, especially with it only being my second month. Your only mistake, was joining the wrong team, which not many people know about. I got very lucky. Yes you do need to pay your way in. That is how Herbalife is. However, no business is free to start. I can say that we don't force people to have products in their house to sell, that is their choice. I prefer to drop ship from Herbalife. Each team in Herbalife is different. We teach steps that we know to be successful. If it weren't, I would of left this business already. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.
